長くなりそうなので、いきなり本論開始です。

なんと、「若葉のころ」の 翻訳作業です！

used to　には「昔はこうだったけど、今は違う」との意味があるそうです。

簡単そうで、 ask　は曲者です。

someone else moved in from far away.

ここはもっと曲者！

 

someone else moved in の次に、何か略されてない？

たとえば、in my mind    とか    in my heart

あるいは、

in your mind    とか   in your heart

まったく逆の意味になっちゃうから、要注意。

 

まわりを削ぎ落としてみると、

Don’t ask me why,someone else moved in

「相手の心に入り込んだ違う人」のことを、「私に聞かないで」は変だから、

Don’t ask me why,someone else moved in my heart

かな？

 

Now we are tall, and Christmas trees are small,

and you don’t ask the time of day.

the time of day　には強調の意味があるそうです。

「今何時？」ではなく、「一日中、ちょっとも」・「聞いてくれない」という感覚です。

But you and I, our love will never die,

but guess we’ll cry come first of May.

cry　大声を上げて叫ぶ

guess　推測する

first of May　やっぱり、ここが名訳「若葉のころ」なんだな～！

 

次が、私みたいな者には超難関！

上記の意味はいいとして、なんで突然、何の脈絡で林檎の木なんだ？

them　は何を指しているの？

次に来る「行」の内容ですよね。

the day 　だけでは　them all　にならないし、

その日に、キスして、その日に居なくなるのは、超不自然！

キスしたあの日から、別れた日まで・・・かな？

でも、本当にただ別れただけ？

 

疲れました、後は繰り返しだから、手抜き！
